Veteran-Owned Business: Certification, Marketing & Growth [5/28/2026 6:00 pm]
Use your veteran-owned status as a business asset. Join the Alabama SBDC at Troy University, in partnership with APEX Accelerator of Alabama, for a virtual roundtable designed to help veteran entrepreneurs, military spouses, and transitioning service members understand how military-connected business ownership can support growth.
This session will explore how veteran-owned businesses can use their status in two practical ways: to pursue certification opportunities that may support government contracting or supplier opportunities, and to strengthen marketing, customer trust, visibility, and business growth.
The discussion is also relevant for military spouses who help manage or grow a family side business, spouses supporting a veteran-owned venture, and transitioning service members who are considering entrepreneurship as a next step. Participants will learn about veteran-owned business certification options, what business owners should understand before pursuing certification, common mistakes to avoid, and how to appropriately highlight veteran-owned status in branding, outreach, storytelling, and promotion.
This event is designed for veteran entrepreneurs, service-disabled veteran entrepreneurs, military spouses, transitioning service members, military-connected business owners, and small businesses interested in using veteran-owned status strategically for certification, marketing, or both.
