Agribusiness Lunch & Learn: Meet the Alabama State University SBDC

The Alabama Beginning Farmer Program, in association with the Alabama Cooperative Extension System, invites beginning farmers, agribusiness owners, entrepreneurs, and small business owners in Macon County and surrounding areas to join us for an informative Agribusiness Lunch & Learn.

Presented by Stephen Langford, Business Advisor with the  Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Alabama State University, this session will introduce participants to who we are, what we do, and how the SBDC at ASU helps businesses start, grow, and succeed.

Learn how the SBDC provides no-cost, confidential business advising and technical assistance in areas such as:

  • Business plan development
  • Access to capital and loan readiness
  • Financial projections and cash flow planning
  • Market research and industry analysis
  • Business startup guidance
  • Marketing and AI-powered business tools
  • Growth strategies and business expansion

Special emphasis will be placed on the business plan as the foundation of a successful agribusiness. Participants will learn how a well-developed business plan, combined with proper financial records and organizational structure, can help prepare their operation to meet the rigorous administrative and financial requirements for competitive agricultural grants, USDA programs, and commercial loan opportunities.

Whether you are considering starting a farm, launching an agribusiness, or expanding an existing operation, this Lunch & Learn will connect you with the resources, expertise, and ongoing support available through the  Small Business Development Center at Alabama State University.

All beginning farmers, agribusiness owners, entrepreneurs, and small business owners are encouraged to attend.
